Provider and licence
Accord is provided by York Global Commerce Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15922323. Registered office: The Storage Team York, Monks Cross Drive, Huntington, York, North Yorkshire, England, YO32 9GZ. Contact: contact@yorkglobal.co.uk.
Downloads through the App Store are licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement and the applicable App Store usage rules. This page explains product-specific conditions; it does not replace that agreement or reduce rights under mandatory consumer law. Open-source licences take priority for their respective components where terms conflict.
Before using Accord, read the Privacy Policy and these Terms, then choose Agree & Continue. If you decline, the app stays locked and you can return to read the documents later. Your agreement is saved on the device for this document version; a revision requiring renewed agreement will show the prompt again.
Your recordings and music
You retain ownership of the recordings and other content you create. We do not acquire ownership of your performances or imported files. The app uses the local access you authorise to record, mix, save and share that content.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to record people, import music and distribute your finished work. Buying a song or holding a streaming subscription does not necessarily grant permission to use it as a backing track or publish it in a video. Accord does not supply music licences or remove copy protection.
Do not use the app to infringe copyright or privacy, record unlawfully, or access someone else’s files without permission. Respect the permissions and safety of people you record.
Recording, saving and backups
Accord requires microphone access for recording and camera access for video. It records while the app is in the foreground. Calls, changing audio devices or leaving the app can interrupt a take. Check the result before relying on it, and keep independent backups of important work.
Audio balancing helps compensate for different recording levels; it cannot guarantee identical perceived loudness or remove clipping, background noise or backing music already captured by the microphone. Voice and instruments recorded together remain on the same track. Playback speed changes are for listening and do not change exported speed.
Deleting an exported work does not delete every source file, backup or shared copy. Moving or removing source files can prevent later editing. The support page explains where files are stored and how to manage them.
Apple and other services
File providers, device backups, the App Store, TestFlight and apps you share to are separate services governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their availability or the copies they retain. See our privacy policy for the information Accord handles.
Availability, pricing and updates
Accord 1.0 is free to download and all features in this version are free to use, including audio and video recording, mixing and MP3/MP4 export. This version has no in-app purchases, subscriptions or redemption codes. Future versions may offer optional paid features, with the features and price explained before you choose to purchase. These terms do not authorise a charge.
Updates may improve or change features and system requirements. TestFlight builds are for testing, may contain faults and may expire under Apple’s testing rules. An invitation does not guarantee a public release or future feature.
Open-source software
MP3 encoding uses LAME 3.100 under the GNU Library General Public License (LGPL). LAME is a separate encoding library; Accord uses Apple’s media frameworks for decoding. Settings → About & Open Source includes the original licence and project link.
York Global Commerce Ltd provides the corresponding LAME source, dated modifications and build instructions, together with application object code, resources and relinking instructions for this release, through the support website. The LAME source package retains the original licence and copyright notices. The relinking package provides the application materials without its proprietary source code or signing credentials.
You may exercise the rights granted by LAME’s licence, including modifying LAME and relinking or recombining the application for your own use. Modification of the work for your own use and reverse engineering for debugging such modifications are permitted to the extent required by that licence. These permissions take priority over conflicting product terms; they do not grant general redistribution rights to Accord’s proprietary code or branding. No payment to us is required to obtain these materials or exercise these permissions. Normal recording and export do not require these optional developer steps.
Modified builds use the recipient’s own development signing arrangements as documented in the package. We do not provide Apple’s or our private signing keys, and modified builds are not represented as official Accord releases. Third-party tools and platform services remain subject to their applicable terms.
Your legal rights
Apple’s standard licence sets out the applicable licence, warranty and liability provisions. Nothing on this page excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights in your country or region. Contact us if the app does not work as expected.
Changes and contact
