Start a recording

Accord requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later, with no account. Choose Audio or Video in Record. For video, tap Open camera preview before starting; changing the mode does not open the camera. After confirmation and device preparation, a 3–2–1 count-in leads into recording.

Resume at your own pace

Tap Pause recording, then Resume recording. The count-in replays up to 3 seconds of backing before the pause to help you find the rhythm. Without backing, only the countdown is shown. The replay is not recorded again; cancel the resume count-in to stay paused.

Stop, record again and save

Press and hold Hold to stop for about 1 second; release early to cancel. Listen & mix opens after recording. Record also has Listen & mix, Record again and Save your recording buttons. Choose MP3 or MP4 from the save button, then enter a name. Recording again requires confirmation; cancelling its start count-in keeps the previous take.

Import and choose backing tracks

Import multiple audio files in Backing, then choose the current track from the list. Download cloud files first. Choose backing track or Change backing track on Record opens the list directly. Tracks can be renamed and reordered. Import to Accord in another app’s share menu stages an audio file for you to select after opening Accord.

Balance loud backing and quiet recordings

Backing volume in headphones changes what you hear while recording. Headphones reduce backing being picked up again by the microphone. After recording, adjust backing and recorded-audio levels separately in Listen & mix, or use automatic balancing. It cannot repair clipping or separate voice and instruments recorded together.

Find a playback position

Drag the progress slider or skip backward or forward by 5 seconds. Listen at 0.5× to 2× speed; exports keep their original speed. Expand the timing adjustment if the tracks are misaligned. Move it left when the recorded sound is late, or right when it is early.

Find your files

Library offers playback, sharing, renaming, further adjustment and deletion. In Files → On My iPhone or On My iPad → Accord, Exports holds finished works; Audio and Video hold sources. Deleting a work keeps its sources. Back up source files before removing them.

Language, text size and appearance

Choose English, Simplified Chinese or the system language in Settings, along with text size and light or dark appearance. Larger text and landscape views may need scrolling. Hiding playback waveforms does not affect capture feedback, balancing or exports.

Permissions and interruptions

Manage permissions in iOS Settings. Calls, changing audio devices or leaving the app stop recording and preserve captured content. Check it when you return. Include your device, system and app versions, and the steps involved when contacting support.

Open-source materials

MP3 encoding uses LAME 3.100 (LGPL). Accord is provided by York Global Commerce Ltd; LAME is covered by its own licence.

We provide corresponding sources, change notices and application object code for modification and relinking for your own use. The materials contain no proprietary application source or signing credentials; normal use does not require these steps.

Materials are prepared under LGPL v2 section 6(a). Modified builds use the recipient’s own development signing arrangements; the archive includes English and Chinese instructions and verification limits.
