Who provides Accord

Accord is provided by York Global Commerce Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 15922323. Our registered office is The Storage Team York, Monks Cross Drive, Huntington, York, North Yorkshire, England, YO32 9GZ. For privacy or support questions, email contact@yorkglobal.co.uk.

We are responsible for the support correspondence and website information described below. We do not receive your recordings simply because you use Accord.

Your recordings stay under your control

Accord records voice and instruments, optionally with a backing track or camera video. Recording, waveform analysis, volume balancing and MP3/MP4 export take place on your device. The app has no account system, advertising, third-party analytics SDK or developer-operated upload service. It does not track you across apps or websites or sell your personal information.

The app handles the audio files you select, microphone recordings, camera video, file names, timing information, mix settings and exported works. These are stored in its local application folders. Appearance, text size and recording preferences are saved locally too. Your agreement to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use is recorded as a document version in the local App Group preferences shared by Accord and its import action. This record is not uploaded to us. Without it, the app and import action remain unavailable; you can still read both documents. Agreement does not grant microphone or camera access.

Permissions and importing

Microphone access is needed to record sound. Camera access is needed for video preview and recording. You can decline either permission or change it later in iOS Settings. Denying these permissions does not prevent you from importing and listening to a backing track.

The file picker gives Accord access to files you select. The “Import to Accord” action copies an audio file you share into a local inbox shared by Accord and its import extension. It does not grant access to another app’s private files. You can select or remove that copy in the Backing tab.

The current app does not request access to your contacts, location, photo library or advertising identifier. It does not record in the background.

Sharing, backups and other services

Sharing is optional. When you choose a destination in the system share sheet, that app or service receives your file and handles it under its own terms. A cloud file provider or an Apple device backup may also store copies according to your settings. Accord does not provide its own cloud sync, and we cannot remove copies held by recipients or your storage providers.

Apple separately handles App Store downloads and any platform diagnostics you choose to share. If you use a TestFlight beta, Apple automatically shares crash and usage information with us and forwards feedback you submit; the invitation and feedback method can also make your contact details available. We use this information to investigate faults and improve the app. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy information.

Keeping and deleting files

Deleting a work in Library removes its exported file and associated editing record. Original microphone recordings and camera files are retained so that other works and the current take remain usable. Recording another take also keeps earlier source files.

To remove original files, open Files → On My iPhone (or On My iPad) → Accord. The Audio folder contains source audio, Video contains camera files, and Exports contains saved works. Back up important recordings before removing source files; works that depend on them may no longer be editable. Remove unused imports in the Backing tab. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data; exported, shared and backed-up copies need to be managed separately.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to reply, investigate problems and keep necessary support records. You do not need to send a recording to ask for help. Please remove unrelated personal information and do not send passwords.

We rely on taking steps at your request or performing our contract with you where applicable, and on our legitimate interests in providing support and fixing faults. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where a law requires us to retain or disclose information, we rely on that legal obligation.

Authorised staff and the providers delivering our email, hosting and Apple testing services may process information needed for those purposes. We may also disclose information where legally required. Providers may operate outside the UK; where required, international transfers must use an applicable adequacy decision or other lawful safeguards. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your request.

We keep support information for as long as needed to resolve the request, investigate related faults or meet a legal obligation, then delete or anonymise information no longer needed. The nature of the problem, any ongoing dispute and applicable record-keeping duties determine that period. Data held within Apple’s services also follows Apple’s retention rules.

Your choices and rights

You can manage recordings on your device, revoke permissions, choose whether to share files and contact us about information we hold.
