CaliNote Terms of Use

Effective September 10, 2026

CaliNote is provided by York Global Commerce Ltd, company number 15922323. These Terms of Use apply to your use of CaliNote. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms and to the Apple Media Services terms that apply to your download. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

License

Subject to these terms, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CaliNote on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules. CaliNote is licensed, not sold. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and controls where it provides mandatory terms.

You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, rent, lease, resell, or use the app to violate law, except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by applicable law or allowed by an included open-source license.

Your content

You retain ownership of the notes and other content you create. You grant CaliNote only the device-level access needed to perform the features you request. You are responsible for your content, for having the right to use it, and for maintaining suitable backups.

CaliNote uses Markdown files as the portable note format. Moving, editing, synchronizing, or deleting those files outside the app can change what CaliNote displays. Review file operations carefully.

Apple services and integrations

Optional features may use iCloud Drive, Calendar, Reminders, notifications, Spotlight, or other Apple services. Those services are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple’s availability, terms, and privacy practices. You can decline or revoke optional permissions, although related features may then be unavailable.

Acceptable use

Do not use CaliNote to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, distribute malicious material, interfere with the app or Apple services, or attempt unauthorized access to another person’s device or data.

TestFlight beta versions

Versions distributed through TestFlight are for testing, may contain unfinished features or faults, and may expire or be withdrawn. Use separate test data and maintain backups of important files. An invitation does not promise a public release date, price, or future feature. Apple’s TestFlight terms also apply.

Updates and availability

The app may change over time to improve reliability, compatibility, security, or features. Some changes may require a newer version of an Apple operating system. Features that depend on Apple services, permissions, file availability, or network access may be interrupted or unavailable.

Open-source software

CaliNote includes third-party open-source software and fonts. Their license notices are available in Settings under Open Source Acknowledgements. Those license terms apply to the relevant components and take priority over conflicting terms in this document for those components.

Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaliNote is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free storage, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded in your country or region.

CaliNote is a notes and productivity tool. It is not professional legal, medical, financial, or safety advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaliNote’s developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from use of the app. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot be limited, including mandatory consumer protections and liability for fraud, gross negligence, personal injury, or other protected claims where applicable.

Suspension or termination

You may stop using CaliNote at any time. The license ends if you materially breach these terms. Ending use does not automatically delete Markdown files stored outside the app’s container or in iCloud Drive.

Governing terms and regional rights

Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement identifies applicable governing-law and dispute provisions, with regional exceptions. Mandatory laws in your place of residence, including consumer protections in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, remain unaffected.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected by updating this document and its effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
