Who handles your information
York Global Commerce Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 15922323, is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: contact@yorkglobal.co.uk. Postal address: The Storage Team, Monks Cross Drive, York, YO32 9GZ, United Kingdom.
Work data on your device
Project names, colours, archive status, work dates, durations, notes, and the client and author details used in reports are stored on your device. Report templates and preferences are also local. TimeTally does not require an app account, automatically monitor your activity in other apps, or automatically send work entries or report contents to a server operated by us.
Optional iCloud sync
In builds that support sync, you can enable it in Settings → Data & Backup. Project names, colours, archive status and goals, plus saved work dates, durations, notes and deletion markers, are then uploaded to your Apple iCloud private database and exchanged between devices using the same iCloud account. Active timers, reminders, appearance preferences, favourites, report templates and Pro access do not sync. Apple handles the cloud service under its iCloud terms and privacy policy, using your iCloud storage allowance. The app keeps an account association on your device to prevent the original workspace from syncing to a different account. We do not operate a separate sync server.
Backups, exports and recovery
You choose whether to export CSV, PDF or JSON, where to save each file and whom to share it with. If you select iCloud Drive or another cloud drive, that service handles the file under its own policy. The app saves a local recovery copy before a full database restore and before remote changes replace or delete local records. Recovery files and exports do not take part in in-app sync; manage them separately.
Purchases and restoration
Optional Pro features use the Apple App Store and StoreKit. Apple handles payment, billing, refunds and purchase-account information. The app uses verified transaction information supplied by Apple to determine feature access. We do not receive card details or your Apple Account password, and do not operate a server that collects purchase receipts.
Reminders, analytics and diagnostics
You choose whether to enable reminders, which the system schedules locally. The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. If you share diagnostics through Apple settings, TestFlight or feedback features, Apple may provide crash reports, performance information or feedback you submit. We use these to investigate problems. Review screenshots and attachments for work or client information before sharing them.
Contacting us
We receive the contact details, issue description and attachments you choose to send in a support email or beta feedback. We use them to reply, address purchase or restoration issues, troubleshoot faults and improve the product. Service requests are processed as necessary to perform our contract or take steps at your request. We rely on legitimate interests to maintain reliable support records and improve the product. Do not send passwords, full purchase receipts or unrelated sensitive information.
Recipients and international processing
Apple handles its purchase, testing and diagnostic services. Your email provider and ours handle support correspondence. Where necessary, information may also be disclosed to professional advisers or legally authorised bodies. We do not sell support information or share it with advertisers. Service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area; applicable data-protection safeguards are required where the law requires them.
Retention and deletion
You can manage work entries in the app and remove a saved template from Reports. With sync enabled, edits and deletions are exchanged with other devices. Minimal deletion markers remain in iCloud to prevent offline devices from bringing deleted records back. Turning sync off keeps both local and cloud copies; it does not clear iCloud. Uninstalling the Mac app may leave its local database or preferences behind. Manage recovery files, exports and independent backups separately; contact support for help with complete removal. Under our support-record policy, correspondence is normally retained for 12 months after the last substantive contact. Records needed for legal obligations or disputes may be retained longer, then deleted or anonymised where reasonably practicable.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law and our lawful basis, you may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, including objection at any time to processing based on legitimate interests. Email support to make a request; reasonable identity verification may be needed. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or your local data-protection authority.
Policy changes
Updated on 20 September 2026. This policy describes local storage and optional iCloud sync in the current development version. Sync is available only in configured builds; the public TestFlight beta is not open yet. Further changes affecting how information is handled will be described here.
